1.What type of posts are acceptable?

The following types of posts are acceptable:

  • Item(s) for sale

  • Item(s) for trade

  • Items(s) for free

  • Want to Buy (WTB) Item(s)

2. I buy and sell items in bulk/I buy and sell for a living. Can I sell my items here?

MacSwap is intended to be used much like a newspaper's classified ad section or a garage sale. It is not to be used by those who run a business buying and selling items, nor is it to be used by anyone who "makes a living" buying and selling items. MacSwap does not accept any advertisements, and as such, does not wish to endorse (or appear to endorse) any businesses. If you have any question about our policy, please contact the webmaster.

3. Can I post non-Macintosh items?

You are welcome to post any items that you have for sale. Obviously, the main focus of this website is Macintosh computers, but you can post anything you'd like if you think there may be interest in it.

4. What is MacSwap's liability regarding transactions facilitated through the website?

MacSwap is in no way responsible for monetary loss or for loss of merchandise due to a transaction that does not result in the satisfaction of all parties involved. MacSwap has no financial stake in any transactions which take place due to postings made on its website.

5. I need to change something in a listing I made. How do I do it?

You can edit a post by clicking on the "Edit" link which is located at the top and bottom of every page. Clicking this link will bring up a listing of all items you currently have listed. From that page, you can select a post to edit.

6. How do I remove a post?

In order to remove/delete a post, click on the "Edit" link which is located at the top and bottom of every page. From the page that comes up, choose a post to remove. Note that removing a post is permanent--it cannot be resurrected.

7. How long do posts stay listed on MacSwap?

Once your posting to MacSwap has been up for fourteen days, you'll receive an e-mail with a link that you must visit in order to retain your MacSwap listing. Failure to visit the page at the link will cause your post to be "de-listed."

8. My post was there, but now it's missing. What happened to it?

Your post was probably "de-listed" (see FAQ #7). Approximately fourteen days after your initial post or subsequent updates, you will receive an e-mail at your registered e-mail address requesting that you visit an included web link in order to retain your MacSwap post. Failure to visit the weblink will result in your post being hidden from view ("de-listed").
